4-Hand Massage, Meaning and Format
A 4-hand massage, sometimes written four-hand massage, puts two masseuses on one guest at the same moment. They work as a matched pair, copying each other's direction, pace and pressure, so the guest feels one continuous motion instead of two separate treatments. Any base technique can sit inside that pairing: body-to-body, nuru gel, warm oil, soapy or a tantric ritual. For booking details and companions, see our 4-hand massage Amsterdam page.
What a Four-Hand Massage Is
Picture two practitioners standing on either side of the table, or kneeling either side of the bed, and starting the same long stroke at the same instant. That shared rhythm is the whole idea. Three things set the format apart. First comes the mirrored technique: stroke direction, pressure and tempo match from one side to the other. Second, the guest receives twice the contact at once, hands on the shoulders while other hands reach the calves, which feels very different from a solo session. Third, the pairing is open to any technique, so oil, gel, soap or full-body glide can all be given four-handed.
Why the pair must have trained together
Synchrony is a learned skill. Our office only books 4-hand sessions with companions who have practised as a pair or who are specifically trained in four-hand timing, because two strangers rarely move as one on the first try. For the same reason the pairing is fixed when you book and is never swapped on the day itself.
Where the Format Came From
Four-hand work took shape in the sensual-massage studios of Western Europe during the 1990s and 2000s, then spread abroad as the recognised premium version for two practitioners. The training in shared timing grew up alongside the wider professionalisation of sensual massage. Agencies that take the craft seriously now price it the same way everywhere: as a duo, two companions for the length of the session.
Four-Hand Variants You Can Request
Tell the office which style you want when you write in. Oil four-hand is the classic version with warm, high-grade massage oil. Four-hand body-to-body swaps hands and forearms for the masseuses' own oiled bodies, keeping skin contact unbroken. Four-hand nuru follows the same body-led idea with nuru gel for an almost frictionless glide. Four-hand tantric slows everything down around breathing and ritual structure. Four-hand sensual brings the session to a close with the finish elements of a sensual massage, as described in our happy ending entry.
Price, Length and Venue
How much does a 4-hand massage cost in Amsterdam?
There is no separate tariff. A four-hand session is priced exactly like any two-companion booking, at the standard duo rate shown on our rates page, and there is no surcharge for the synchronised format.
How long should the session be?
Ninety minutes is the shortest length that lets the rhythm build properly, and two hours is what most guests choose. The format needs time to settle before it shows what it can do.
Hotel room or private home?
Every session is outcall, to a hotel suite or a private residence with enough room for two people to move around you. For the body-to-body and nuru versions the companions bring a waterproof sheet to protect the bed from oil and gel. If you are staying in a hotel, our hotel outcall guide explains arrival etiquette.
Related Terms in the House Guide
Four-hand work sits close to the duo booking format, and the nuru, lingam and tantra entries describe the techniques a pair can bring. Every other term is listed in the full house guide.
